Pioneer® Seeds announces new graduate program

New 2-year program provides a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of the seed industry through on-the-job training alongside experienced research staff. It equips university graduates with the technical knowledge and practical stills to effectively transition into a permanent research position.

Pioneer® Seeds is pleased to announce the launch of a Graduate Research Program, with applications being sought for the 2025 year intake closing early April 2025. 

 

Three Graduate Research roles are on offer in 2025, and each is a unique opportunity to learn the intricacies of the seed industry through on-the-job training alongside experienced research staff. The Pioneer Seeds Graduate Program equips successful applicants with the technical knowledge and practical stills to effectively transition into permanent research positions. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow professionally from entry level position into the agriculture research industry.

 

The Graduate Research role is responsible for assisting the research team with managing and executing high quality data trial sites to support hybrid advancement and positioning decisions. The two year program offers key learning opportunities within the southern research team as well as opportunities with across other facets of the business.

 

Successful appointees to the Graduate Research roles can expect every day to be different, and to work within a dynamic research team to execute the trialling program. There will also be opportunities to be exposed to other areas of the business including sales and production.

 

A typical day could include:

 

  • Trial design and implementation
  • Data interpretation
  • Agricultural chemicals and their application
  • Drone operation
  • Planting and harvesting trials.

Pioneer Seeds Graduate Research personnel will receive on the job learning based on localised operations specific to the southern research team to ensure a thorough understanding of all elements in the research and portfolio life cycle.

Learning and career development opportunities will be available also through scheduled short term and long-term courses to ensure the opportunity for skills development while working at Pioneer Seeds Australia. Other opportunities include:

  • Attendance at department specific and all company conferences to promote cross collaboration and learning for all business units at Pioneer Seeds.
  • Working exclusively with leaders and experts in their respective fields and gain industry experience and knowledge that only comes from longevity and tenure within the industry.
  • Attendance at industry specific conferences and events to broaden learnings and assist in establishing networks within the industry
